Accreditations

Dear Sir/Madam,

I have the pleasure to invite you to the 14th edition of ATP International Men's Tennis Tournament Pekao Open, which traditionally takes place in September, at the courts in 127 Wojska Polskiego Av., Szczecin.

A lot happened last year... A favoured player Augustin Calleri, Argentina, won due to his best and most solid play. In finals, he defeated Alberto Martin, who had tried his luck in Szczecin eight times so far.

It means that the curse hasn’t been broken: any of Spanish players hasn’t managed to win Pekao Open tournament, though they are famous for being experts in clay courts. Callariego’s victory is something to be proud of: three years ago, ranked 16th in the world, played in Hamburg Masters finals, where he lost to Guillermo Coria. Earlier in his career, he used to win against Juan Carlos Ferrero, Andy Roddick, Andre Aggasi, or Marat Safin. Later on, he had to fight some injuries, but he made his comeback in Szczecin in a grand style. In recent years, we have hosted many celebrities, such as Nicolas Massu, Chile, Athens olimpic champion; Juan Carlos Ferrero and Sergi Bruguera, Roland Garros champions; unforgettable Younes El Aynaoui. They left us with memories and some remains of their outfits: shoes, T-shirts, wristbands, or... broken racquets, which are all included in the tournament collection.

You are welcome to Szczecin courts, where you will witness a great deal of best quality tennis played by top clay court experts. Just like every year, you are invited to the Radisson SAS hotel, our long-standing partner and sponsor. PRESS CONFERENCES 

• Will be held on September 4th 2006, at 2.00 p.m. 
  - in Warsaw, Ferdy’s Restaurant (the Radisson Hotel SAS, 24 Grzybowska Str.)
  - In Szczecin, Klubik, 13 Kusnierska Str.

• Located directly under "players lounge" at the courts, will be open from September 16th (Saturday) to September 24th (Sunday); 
• ID badges and luncheon vouchers will be available at the press office reception (ID badges entitle to enter the courts, Press Office, journalists’ stand); 
• Accreditation fees (PLN100/day) for journalists staying at the Radisson SAS hotel will be taken at the tournament reception situated in the Radisson SAS hotel; 
• The press office will be equipped in computers, telephones, fax machines and internet, as well as drinks. Smoking will be prohibited there; 
• Everyday news bulletin will be available (in electronic form as well); 
• Except for everyday press conferences, it will be possible to interview the players in a place designed for this purpose; 
• Jakub Kowalski is the press office manager (Kowalski ‘Materials Well Pressed’).

• From Monday to Friday, the games will be held from 10.00 a.m. to 7.00 p.m.; on top of this, during so called night session, Game of the Day (everyday except for final Sunday); 
• Singles semi-final is planned to be played on September 23rd, Saturday, 2.00 p.m.; 
• Doubles final is planned to be played on September 23rd, Saturday, 7.00 p.m. (Game of the Day); 
• Singles final will be held on September 24th, Sunday, 12.00 o’clock.

HOTEL

• The tournament reception will be situated in the hall of the Radisson SAS hotel; 
• Persons, who sent the accreditation form along with hotel booking, can go directly to the hotel, pay the accreditation fee there and get the accommodation information; 
• The accreditation fee includes double rooms.

• Open from September 18th (Monday) to September 24th (Sunday), opening hours: 12.00 - 10.00 p.m.  

• An integration party for journalists accredited to Pekao Open 2006 will take place on September 22nd, Friday night, in the name of PRESS CASINO, in Klubik, 13 Kusnierska Str., 10.00 p.m.
  games and plays in cigarette and alcohol mist on the programme.

• 2nd edition of tennis tournament to commemorate Jacek Taczalski, sports journalist, the tournament’s friend, is planned to be played on September 17th-19th 2006;
